Wildflower Celebration

Updated: May 11, 2021

The Wildflower Celebration returns on Sunday, April 28th. This annual free celebration at the botanic garden highlights Delaware’s native wildflowers and invites people of all ages to go wild with hands-on activities, nature play, and live music.

Enjoy a magnificent display of spring ephemera's at our annual celebration of the season. Stroll through our native plant gardens at the peak of their glory; enjoy live music, gardening demonstrations, family programming, and more. A variety of food selections are available and, in response to requests from Mt. Cuba Center’s visitors, a selection of native plants will be available for purchase, while supplies last. Dress comfortably to sit on the ground and at the picnic tables.

This year’s celebration features music from Flatland Drive Bluegrass Band and guitarist Jenn Minor, gardening demonstrations from Mt. Cuba Center’s experts, an Ikebana flower arrangement demonstration, lawn games, face painting, story time, and arts and crafts, among other activities.

Free parking for this event is at the Red Clay Reservation, 1003 Old Wilmington Road, just east of Brackenville Road. Shuttle buses and a walking path provide access to the garden from the parking area.
